Tonight was a church fundraiser at Rita's so we got to have ice cream for dinner. And if you know me, this is absolutely crazy because I am so strict about eating healthy. So Sydney had vanilla custard with rainbow sprinkles. She was so thrilled and ate every last drop. Betty and Duncan enjoyed licking the ice cream off of Syd's face :)
Savannah made my morning very interesting. I had to leave early so I could drive to Andrew's AFB for a meeting, so was it asking too much for everything to go smoothly...apparently, yes! Savannah woke up earlier than usual so I got her ready and she played in the pack-n-play while I got Syd up and ready. When I came back down, I picked her up to put her in her car seat and noticed some wet spots on the sheet. Then I realize she blew out of her diaper and it was all over my arm. So as I'm trying to get out the door (on time) I have to clean up Savannah and myself. What a wonderful morning! Luckily the rest of my day went pretty well. And I was very fortunate that my car didn't get towed (next time I should read the signs that say "15 minute parking").

Eight Months Today!
Can you believe eight months ago today, Savannah was born? She is growing so fast. Last week she got her first tooth. She is an expert crawler and is on the go all the time. She loves playing with her big sister. It is so wonderful watching Sydney interact with her little sister. Sydney lets her know when she's doing something wrong...today, Savannah grabbed a cord and Syd said, "no, no, no, Baby". Hopefully someday Sydney will refer to Savannah by her name and not just by "Baby."
Savannah has her first cold. Sydney shared hers. Jason and I will probably be sick by Wednesday.

Pip Toes
Sydney insists on picking out the cup she drinks from every time she wants a drink. She stands on the counter and usually picks out one of Savannah's cups so she can re-live her baby days. So today she was standing on the counter looking at all the choices of cups and says, "Mama, I stand on my pip toes to get a cup." She is so excited to stand on her pip toes!
And a bonus story. This morning, I told Sydney that I loved her and she "no, I love you." And I said, "no, I love you" and she said, "no, I love you!"...this continued for several minutes and by the end she was screaming it. I'll have to remind her of this in ten year. Is it too much to hope for her to be saying that when she's 12?

NINE Years
Can you believe it -- a post two days in a row?!?!?!
Yesterday was our anniversary. I still can't believe another year has gone by. It just seems like yesterday that we were standing in the Chapel at Kings College exchanging our vows. Thank you Jason for being the most wonderful husband and woman can have. You have given me the best nine years of my life. I love you with my entire heart and look forward to many more fabulous years with you (and our girls)!
So today's cute story of the day...Sydney and I were talking this morning and she asked if Ron and Beth can come over to play with her. They will be visiting tomorrow and she asked if they will bring the dogs. I said yes and asked her if she remembered the dogs' names. After a couple minutes of thinking, she said "CUPCAKE!"

New Plan
OK...So don't fall out of your chair because I'm finally updating this blog. I have come to the realization that Sydney and Savannah do the cutest stuff every single day but in a week I forget it. So I have a new plan. Each night I am going to post my favorite memory of the day. The post will be very short but at least in a month or in a year or in ten years I'll be able remember some of the greatest moments.
So today we picked up the girls from Edna's and we let Sydney know we were going to go to a picnic. She got extremely excited. When we were on our way to the picnic Sydney asked if we are going on a boat ride. This may not make any sense to you, but three weeks ago we went to Jason's company picnic and went on a boat ride (which Sydney absolutely loved!). I thought it was so cool that Sydney associated picnic with boat ride. Every day that girl amazes me!
And here's a bonus story. Edna told me that Sydney and Samantha were playing this afternoon and something about a horse came up. So Sydney said "Giddy-Up" while slapping her butt and galloping like a horse. Where does she learn this stuff from???

Ugh! Where to Begin
Happy Belated New Year! How the time is just flying by. I can not believe twelve weeks is over so fast. I start back at work in exactly 41 hours. I am so not looking forward to my first day back. I've been having so much fun with my girls, I just hate to leave them. However, I'm sure if I did decide to do the stay at home mom thing I would probably be going crazy and wanting to go back to work.
So let's catch up on some exciting events since my last post. I am so proud of myself and my two girls for taking the 300 mile drive to visit Grammy. We spent a week there at the beginning of the month and I made the drive without Jason. I couldn't have asked for two better passengers. They were just perfect the entire drive there and back.
Sydney has been talking up a storm. She loves to repeat words now. And tries to repeat everything we say. Some words nails and other times I think she's speaking chinese. Since our return from PA, Sydney has been quite the hand full. She's doing that testing thing that all children do (or so I'm told). So we've had some very miserable days filled with screaming and crying (from Syd and myself). However, I'm happy to report that the last few days have been wonderful. Tantrums have been kept to a minimum and Sydney's learning that we're not a bunch of pushovers.
Savannah has to be the best baby ever. I thought I had it good with Sydney, but Savannah is even more laid back! She only cries when she's hungry or tired. What a change from her first month in this world! I can't believe how big she's getting already. She's almost outgrown all of her 3 months clothes. Yesterday, I packed up most of her 3 month clothes and pulled out the 6 month stuff. :(
Monday morning Savannah starts at daycare. I'm sure she'll be fine. Well that's if we can get her to drink from a bottle. We're on the third kind. Jason has had some success, but at this point, I think the girl would rather starve then put that rubber nipple in her mouth! Hopefully, Edna will have a better time with her on Monday.
